The Trakker Armo Quicklock Bedchair is a massive innovation from Trakker Products. It boasts a fantastic new design on the traditional ratchet mechanism featured on all bedchairs, except one…the Trakker Armo Quicklock Bedchair.
This bedchair has been featured in many forms of angling media, most notibly the free Korda DVDs – Carp, Tackle, Tactics and Tips (Volumes 1, 2 and 3). This bedchair is super comfortable and extremely user friendly. This bedchair is ‘the one’ for any angler wishing to have a chair for those day sessions but doesn’t want another item in their sheds/garages etc. This chair ‘does all’ as the ratchet is so strong, it dwarfs any other mechanism featured on any bedchair.
Due to this new mechanism, the chair can be adjusted extremely easily. This saves the hassle with any legs or lining up grooves in the ratchet system, this chair does it for you.
The chair features an extremely high quality mattress, which is very comfortable and breathable.
The Trakker 365 sleeping bag is an absolute beast of a sleeping bag. The bag is very versatile, and incredible value for money at under £150. The bag can be used all year round. The bag contains an inner “zip-in” which adds the winter warmth layers. The additional bonus of this bag is that the angler can choose how many layers they wish to sleep on, and under. The angler can sleep on two layers, and two layers over them, or one layer beneath, and three over or three layers beneath and one layer over them.
This bag is ideal for any angler wishing to fish through the entire year, particularly abroad as the other layers can be used for extra padding making your longer trips that little bit more comfortable, and in a system that will not move around on your bedchair.
The X-Trail barrow is a brand new barrow from Trakker. Trakker have designed this barrow with the utmost care and attention to detail. They have formed the frame in a fantastic lightweight, but very strong material, making it effortless to push around the lake.
The frame has been designed in a way to keep your rods high – a common mistake with many barrows which leave the rods to be damaged in transit. The frame is “sunk” toward to the hands to allow flat items such as your bed chair to distribute the weight across the entire barrow. At under £100, this product is a fantastic innovation from Trakker – taking many issues of other barrows head on with a fantastic design.
TFG have really gone “all out” on this bedchair. The chair features solid construction, but weighs so little for a 4-leg chair. The chair features a fantastic mattress which is fitted all over the chair. In addition, there are extra “pillowed supports” sewn into the chair. All materials are fully breathable allowing air flow throughout the chair, ensuring that you are as comfortable as can be.
The 4-leg design provides 8 individual adjustable legs, which makes this chair one of, if not the most stable chair on the market for a fantastic price – “bang for buck” as they say!
The Gardner ATTs Bite Alarm is a huge innovation from Gardner Tackle. The ATTs looks like a £100 alarm, but it costs just £62 – incredible value considering it’s features.
The ATTs has addressed one of the huge issues with bite alarms – sound. The ATTs does not emit a single sound from the bite alarm head itself, all the sound is transmitted to the wireless receiver. The ATTs offers fantastic versatility as it will cope when you want to be as stealthy as possible in those “flick a light lead, rest the rod and get away” situations as to not spook fish.
The ATTs has actually been tested on several occasions by being submerged in water, and the alarm still fully functions – they are built to an excellent standard, allowing complete piece of mind when using single sticks, or waters where the water can rise within hours.
Gardner ATTs Bite Alarm – £62.99
The Shimano Baitrunner ST 10000 RA is a fantastic value Baitrunner Reel. I would pair this with a lovely nice light rod of around 2 – 2 3/4lb TC rod – ideal for the small-medium sized intimate waters. This reel would be an awesome piece of tackle for tench fishing on a heavy feeder rod, or a light barbel rod . This reel has a variety of uses and features a fantastic build quality, as to be expected with all Shimano reels.
The bail arm and spool are fantastic, smooth as silk making casting effortless. The baitrunner system is of course included, which is ideal allowing two pre-sets of clutch – free spool on the baitrunner, and then a few turns of the reel handle and you’re back onto the main clutch all set for playing a fish/reeling in.
At £50, this reel is a bargain.

The chod rig is a massive innovation in carp fishing. The chod rig has been developed from the helicopter rig by the likes of Terry Hearn, Nick Helleur and Jim Shelley. The chod rig is designed to present a supper buoyant pop-up over the dirty bottoms of the lakes such as weed beds, deep silt etc where standard bottom bait setups are not very effective. Here is how to tie it.
Components required:
1. Remove around 9 inches of fluorocarbon from the spool. Pass it through your hook

2.Whip in a “knotless knot fashion” down the hook – I prefer 6 – 10 whippings

3. Pass the end of the line through the eye of the hook back towards the point, and tighten

4. Form a “figure of eight loop”. To do this, fold the remaining fluorocarbon in half and form the loop, this makes it easier to dictate the length of the chod rig. (Ensure you tighten this knot down fully, if they slip they come undone)

5. Slide a rig ring onto the tag end (hair) of the hook and pass this back through the eye. Poke it through so the ring is fairly tight to the back of the hook, and blob the tag end with a lighter so it doesn’t pull back through.

6. Add a quick link to the loop and you’re done. Viola.

(I did not have a lighter to show the blobbing of the fluorocarbon, and the “D” at the back of the hook would be a lot tighter to the hook).
Use your bait floss and form a loop around an 18mm pop-up. Create a “slip knot” with the floss, tie down nice and tight. Then use the ends to use simple over hand loop twice and a dab of glue to attach it to your rig.
This rig is fished on a leadcore leader which we will show you at a later date.
Viper are synonymous with bait boats, and incredibly good ones at that! The Viper MK3 is no exception. Viper, Prestige, Angling Intelligence, Daiwa, Trakker – all synonymous with fantastic products and product development. The MK3 is added to Vipers list!
The MK3 has a fantastic build quality, using quality acyclic that is incredibly light, watertight and buoyant. The propulsion method is a fantastic jet system, the key advantage is manoeuvrability – it will spin completely on it’s self. Also, the jets totally get rid of any fear of getting weed/semi float rubbish getting caught in any propeller.
The boat will run up to 600 metres in good conditions, with 500 metres being average.
The Carp Porter Stalking Barrow is a fantastic invention from the incredible manufacturer, Prestige, who produced the ubiquitous carp barrow – the MKII.
The Stalking Barrow is ideal for day session anglers, and anglers who like to remain on the move, making your hunt for your quarry more comfortable.
The barrow is very easy to use, incredibly strong utilising the same materials as the MKII.
